jacobsHack! is Germany's largest student-run hackathon where student hackers from all over the world come together to create and collaborate on disruptive projects over the course of 24 hours filled with programming, tech talks, games, and nerf gun battles.
As long as you are a student or have graduated from university in past twelve months, you are eligible to participate. In order to participate, you need to follow the MLH code of conduct.
Nope! Admission is free and includes food, beverages, and swag throughout the event.
We’ve got you covered. We’ll take care of providing meals at the event from breakfast on Saturday to Brunch on Sunday. If you have dietary restrictions, we’ll try our best to accommodate them.
Hacking all night can get tiring. We’ll have a few bean bags and air mattresses in a quiet room for you to nap at the venue. We can also connect you to students at Jacobs who generously offered their rooms for you to sleep and shower.
Bring your laptop along with you. We’ll take care of the food, beverages, toileteries, stickers, and much more. Feel free to bring your pillows, towels, headphones, etc.
jacobsHack! takes place at an international university in Bremen, Germany. You can find the directions from main public transit locations here. If you’re coming from outside Bremen, we’ll try our best to provide travel reimbursements to subsidize your travel to jacobsHack!.
You can work in teams of up to 4 people.
If you don’t have a team now, don’t worry! We’ll have team formation and ideation events geared towards helping you find people to work with.
We are looking for a diverse group of hackers at our hackathon. For this we will ask you a couple of questions in the application. That said we are looking for anyone who is creative or just simply passionate for technology.
Simply head to our Registration Portal. Convince us why you are amazing and we will hopefully see you in Bremen in October! We’ll accept applicants on a rolling basis.
